I have always liked the Access meters. Right now I am using the Access 3. It doesn't require much blood at all.

I have become enchanged with Walgreen's "SideKick" monitor. The insulin strips and the testing meter come together and cost about $39. It's not meant to be long lasting, so when you run out of strips, you just toss the whole contraption and buy a brand new SideKick.
Since I don't test as often as I'm supposed to, one SideKick can last me for several months.

That's a great deal -- especially because the strips cost so much. How many strips do you get with it? Does you insurance cover any part of it?

I use the Avantage. I like it. It is small and easy to read. I have a problem with taking my blood sugar regularly. I just don't take care of my diabetes the way I should. I am trying though. I hope to get better at it.
I use "assure pro" for testing...They are very much reliable and fast as they give the results within 10 seconds.
