Hello Everyone,

I am not a diabetic, but my father, mother and grandmother are. Diabetes runs in my family on all sides. I currently help take care of my dad hear and there and figured the best way to understand diabetes and what he is going through is to join forums and learn from others.

Welcome Myssi..... That's why I am here.. My grandma is a diabetic even though she refuses to behave like one...LOL

Thank you for the welcome! Your grandmother sounds like my dad. He refuses at times to act like a diabetic too. We have to fight with him non stop he has so many other health issues he is really harming himself.

Myssi, welcoome to the forum. I am rather new here too but have already gleaned some info that I didn't know. You didn't say how old you are but I hope you are doing everything within your power to prevent diabetes in yourself, since it is so prominent in your family.

I am 31 and sorry I forgot to mention that. It seems once I hit 30 I stopped telling people how old I was.! :)

LOL I love being in my 30's.... I think it is a fabulous age.... Yoou finally know what you want, how to get it, etc.
