I had gestational diabetes with my youngest son. It was such a pain watching what I ate so I didn't have to take a pill or get shots. But he is 6 now and I am good with my sugar levels. I do watch closely since it runs in the family.

My sister had gestational diabetes with her oldest daughter, but no problems since, thank goodness. Her husband does most of the cooking, and he is really health conscious, so I think she eats a good diet whether she wants to or not.

Wow lucky her.... My husband is the fast food and junk food king.. I would love to have someone that is health conscious to cook for me...

I had this with my oldest daughter. It was bad watching what you eat when you had cravings. They figured by the time I was 30 I would be fully diagnosed because of family history. So far I am 31 and it hasn't happened yet.

My oldest sister got gestational diabetes everytime she got pregnant. The diabetes always went away once she delivered. She has diabetes now.

Gestational diabetes is often a precursor to full blown diabetes. Also a percentage of women will stay diabetics after the baby is born.
