HI.. I don't have diabetes myself but my grandma does. She is a stubborn woman who refuses to take shots so she is managing it with pills. I came here just to check for general ideas or advice on how to keep a watchful eye over her.

Hi sandmike123 and welcome. It's neat that you want to find out more about diabetes for your grandmother. Though I must say I can understand where she's coming from. The lifestyle changes that diabetes demands are not welcome at any age and especially not during old age. I'm a type II diabetic, and I've been known to joke to people that *if* I live to be 80, I'm going to eat whatever I please and flush those annoying little pills down the toilet.

Actually, I pretty much eat what I please now, come to think of it, but it is taking a toll on my health which isn't a good thing.

Yeah she does have a point. She always says what is the point of living if you have to deprive yourself of the things you love. She has made it to 76 doing what she does so who am I to stop her. I usually just try to be the little voice in her head asking if she is sure that is the choice she wants to make...
